Tim Mackley Profile
Tim Mackley became a garden designer as a second career, to pursue professionally a lifelong passion for plants and gardens. After graduating in Biochemistry, he previously spent 14 years working in the media industry.Tim retrained at Capel Manor College, a recognised centre of Vocational Excellence in Horticulture, Landscaping and Garden Design, achieving a number of qualifications including:
RHS General Certificate in Horticulture
C&G Garden & Landscape Design
C&G Hard Landscape & Garden Construction
OCN Planting Design
He was also awarded best practical student of the year on the Hard Landscaping course.
Tim now has over five years experience designing, developing, planting and maintaining gardens for private clients.
One of Tim's completed gardens was featured in the Garden Design Journal Review of the Year 2007. It was one of 12 gardens selected by a panel of renowned judges from the garden design profession, for its exceptional design quality and attention to detail.
In addition to his design and project work, Tim is the single-handed gardener for a large private garden in Dulwich Village, which opens to the public for charity under The National Gardens Scheme (NGS). This half an acre of country-garden-in-London includes a long herbaceous border, spacious lawn, ornamental pond, roses and many and varied plants, plus kitchen garden and greenhouse.
Tim takes pride in offering a professional and personal service, combining creative design skills with extensive plant knowledge and practical horticultural experience.
