Tim Mackley is a qualified garden designer and horticulturalist with over nine years experience in designing, developing, planting and maintaining gardens. He is a Pre-Registered Member of the Society of Garden Designers, the UK’s only professional body dedicated to promoting the highest quality standards in garden design.

After completing an Honours degree, Tim spent 14 years working in the media industry before retraining to pursue professionally his lifelong passion for plants and gardens.

Tim trained at Capel Manor College, a recognised centre of Vocational Excellence in Horticulture, Landscaping and Garden Design, where he attained a range of qualifications including the RHS General Certificate in Horticulture, C&G Garden & Landscape Design, C&G Hard Landscape & Garden Construction and OCN Planting Design.

Tim Mackley has been featured in the magazine Garden Design Journal, in its Review of the Year 2007, where one of his gardens was selected by a panel of renowned judges from the garden design profession, for its outstanding design quality and attention to detail.

In addition to his design and project work, for over seven years Tim has been the single-handed gardener for a large private garden in Dulwich Village, which opens to the public for charity under The National Gardens Scheme (NGS). This half an acre of ‘country garden in London’ includes a long herbaceous border, spacious lawn, ornamental pond, rose garden, numerous trees and shrubs, plus a kitchen garden and greenhouse.
